Seymour High School’s Owl Manufacturing has been recognized as a member of Conexus Student Industries, a statewide network of 15 high schools dedicated to developing advanced manufacturing and logistics talent through school-based enterprises.

The Conexus Student Industries network connects students, teachers and industry in ways to strengthen existing SBE programs and provide tools for new program development and program enhancement,
“Owl Manufacturing is proud to be a part of the Conexus Student Industries network,” said Jeremy Wischmeier, program adviser and technology and engineering teacher at Seymour Community Schools. “The network provides schools with resources and the opportunity to network with other SBEs around the state.”
Owl Manufacturing uses a large format printer, CO2 laser 3D printers, screen printing presses and CNC machines to create custom products for local businesses that range from stickers, banners and T-shirts to custom machined parts.
Conexus Student Industries delivers programming and services to schools that join the network as Conexus Student Industries Council members. This includes council meetings, a competition for students to demonstrate their skills and annual support grants that will be award to qualifying student-run businesses and support wages for summer operations, equipment, marketing and more.
